About Us
Welcome to Shiprock Trading Post!
We are a small but dedicated company specializing in Native American Jewelry and Arts and Crafts.
Hi There! We are Kent and Hillary Morrow, owners and turquoise fanatics. We have been working with Native American Arts and Crafts for over 20 years, and have been fortunate enough to own this business for 10.
We have always loved art and feel obligated to do what we can to help preserve the deep and meaningful culture that is represented in Native American jewelry, pottery, rugs, and other arts and crafts.
The role of the trading post was historically not only a commerce center, but also a social and gathering center. The traders usually would trade items for cash loans. Often times these pawned items would be paid off with trade items like livestock, wool, or rugs.
Today, we still see our role as being a mix of traditional and modern trading. We rely on the Navajo artists for items to sell, and they rely on us to be an outlet for them to sell their goods and help them maintain their traditional culture. We pride ourselves on having great relationships with the artists who come in our door.
We hope to help you find something that is beautiful, authentic, and allows you take a small piece of this rich culture with you wherever you may travel.
